The spooky desert can be extremely dangerous at times and even then, travellers from Delhi, Gujarat loves to arrange a night safari in Sam desert.
Dunes of Sam and Khuri:
Sam sand dunes and khuri sand dunes are two popular desert tourist spots. Both are huge dunes located near Jaisalmer and Sam is a bit more crowded as compared to Khuri.
The visit to these Sand Dunes can be a memorable experience as one can stay in desert camps in Sam Jaisalmer and enjoy activities like jaisalmer desert safari on camel and jeep, see the famous sunset point and enjoy as local Kalbeliya dance show along with exquisite Rajasthani cuisine enhance the beauty and charm of Sam, Jaisalmer.
This haunted village is located 18km away from Jaisalmer. This village was constructed by Paliwal Brahmins and is maintained by Archaeological Department of India. The charm of ruined Fort and mud houses is beyond explanation. The village is conspicuous because it was deserted by villagers in a single night. No one saw them leaving, and no one had a clue where they went.
From the day, it was deserted the village remains barren. The ruined walls and roofs of mud houses seem like grieving for the people that vanished overnight. The village remains same since centuries. It is said that people have experienced paranormal activities here during nighttime.
This garden complex is 6 km away from Jaisalmer. Maharaja of Jaisalmer built a dam in this area, and thus greenery was created in this desert. His son, Lunkaran, built his cenotaph and a garden near the lake after he got expired. Later on, many more cenotaphs were created here for Lunkaran and other Bhattis.
